2003 東京芸術大学美術学部工芸科卒業
2005 東京芸術大学大学院美術研究科木工芸専攻修了
単純なことで大切なことが気になります。 人が生きていく中での様々な行いの動機が気に
なります。 それらのことが自分の中で居座って、言葉や情景や思いになります。 そして、
木を彫ってそんなことをメモします。 このこと自体はとても個人的な行いです。 けれど、
そんな仕事でもこんなふうに思うこともあります。「ある日、いつもの場所でいつもどおり
過ごしていたら、いつもと 空気の流れが違うので、その方向へ顔を向けると、今までな
かった窓がついていた。 ちょっといつもと違う景色や空気感を感じられる。」僕のつくった
作品の形や雰囲気がこの窓の様な役割をし、それを見た 人々が普段の思考と少し違った思
いを抱くきっかけになれば良いなと 思うのです。

Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1977
Graduated from the Department of Crafts, Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts in 2003
Completed the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts in 2005 with a major in woodworking
I'm interested in simple things that are important. I'm interested in the motives behind the various actions people take in life. These things stay with me and become words, scenes, and thoughts. Then, I carve wood and make notes about these things. This in itself is a very personal act. But even in this kind of work, I sometimes think like this. "One day, while you're spending your time in the same place as usual, you notice that the air is flowing differently than usual, and when you turn your face in that direction, you see a window that wasn't there before. You can experience a slightly different view and atmosphere than usual." I hope that the shape and atmosphere of the works I create will act like this window, and that they will inspire people who see them to think in a slightly different way than they usually do.
